An Online Marketing Campaign Can Be Easy
An effective online marketing campaign is nearly as important as selling your product or service itself. It doesn’t matter how wonderful your product is, if you can’t market it successfully, it may as well stay in the box, so to speak. Just because it is such an important part of your business, marketing can seem to be a bit daunting but, honestly, it doesn’t need to be. As with so many things, it is much easier if you break it down into baby steps.
There are five steps you need to do to create an effective marketing campaign.
Who Is Your Perfect Customer?
This is a crucial step in creating a great marketing campaign. Once you have this under your belt everything else will fall into place.
This is much easier if you think of your customer as one person .
- What is their sex?
- How old are they?
- Where do they work and what kind of work do they do?
- Are they married?
- What is their household income?
- What issue or problem does my product solve for them?
- Is what I am offering within their price range?
- Where do they usually go to look for what I am offering?
- What does it usually take to get their business.
I may have got a bit carried away with my first customer profile as I could even tell you what they looked like. I was so sure of my customer though, it was easy to promote the products and services I knew would suit them
It may be that not all these questions will be relevant to your customer but the more detailed profile you have the easier it will be to build a market campaign.
How Can You Get The Attention Of Your Customer?
Yet again, the more detailed your profile the easier you will find this stage.
Is your customer found on various platforms or are they really just Facebook addicts? There’s no point in having a Twitter campaign if your customer visits once in a blue moon. Are you offering a free gift to encourage your customer to sign up to your email list? Knowing your customer will mean you’ll have just the right offer to entice them.
The next question will be to whether you want to use free or paid traffic or a mixture of both. One of the best ways to research this is to look at what others in your field are doing. If they are successful see if their process would suit you and your customers.
What Is Your Budget?
The important thing to remember is ‘expensive doesn’t always mean success’. Test each system and keep a record of what works and, more importantly, what doesn’t. If your budget is low, consider the free or low priced methods such as solo ads or Facebook ads.
Remember to keep your customer in mind for the whole process and this will help you to decide which methods of marketing are going to work for you.
What Do You Use For Your Ad Content?
In most cases you are going to be competing with many other businesses and opportunities to get the attention of your potential customer. Think outside the box, be creative and if you get stuck, ask for help or ideas.
Make sure you are able to grab your customer’s attention straight away and pique their curiosity. You have a tiny window of opportunity so make it work in your favour.
Track, Track And Then, More Tracking
If is absolutely crucial to track your results.
Especially if you are on a low budget, the last thing you want to do is to pay out for a system that isn’t worth the cost. There will always be some avenues that work better than others but you need to know which these are and scale them. If you find that something is only working slightly, it might mean you just need to tweak it a bit to get great results.
This is an area you must do constantly or you’ll find yourself losing money and time on useless systems and avenues. Once you have a found something that works, it is worth spending time and money to upscale and make your marketing strategy be the most successful possible.
Done For You
Of course, there are ‘done for you’ systems that mean you don’t have to worry about any of these points. Paying for someone else to put in the hard work and for you to sit back and watch your bank balance increase on a daily basis is an option. There are many of these in the marketplace due diligence is needed here.
