What is PPC?
PPC stands for pay-per-click. It is a form of advertising. Have you ever seen those promoted posts on Facebook? Those posts use PPC.
As a business owner, you want to drive people to your product and website.
Some people can do this by word-of-mouth or internet buzz, but the fastest way is to pay to get people where you want them (your website, Amazon product page, Facebook page, YouTube site, etc) is to pay for them to get there.
It’s like when a new restaurant opens, they sometimes give away a few free meals to get people in the door. After that, business picks up.
PPC can be very cost-effective if used correctly.
You pay a host like Google, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, or someone else’s website for each time a person clicks on your advertisement.
Most organizations allow you to set who sees your advertisement by demographics or search history or any number of factors. This way, your audience is targeted and the people clicking your advertisement are more likely to buy your product.
You are also allowed to set a monetary limit for the amount you are willing to spend in total, thus, you won’t be out thousands of dollars if someone gets click happy.
The goal is to generate buzz and get your name out there, without losing money!
